1. Definitions

“Studio” refers to any of Studio A, B, C or the Green Room at Lonsdale St. Studio.
“Hirer” or “Client” means the person or organisation hiring the Studio.
“Booking Period” is the date(s) and time(s) confirmed in writing by Lonsdale St. Studio.

2. Booking, Deposit & Payment

  1. New client deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total hire fee is due within 24 hours of confirmation to secure your Booking.

  2. Balance: The remaining balance is due seven days before the Booking Period. Lonsdale St. Studio reserves the right to cancel the Booking if payment in full is not received by this date.

  3. Overdue payments: Interest accrues on overdue balances at 8% above the Reserve Bank of Australia official cash rate, calculated daily from the due date until payment in full.

3. Cancellation & Rescheduling

  1. More than 30 days’ notice: Full refund of all amounts paid (excluding deposit).

  2. 24 hours notice: 50% of total hire fee is payable.

  3. Same day notice or no-show: 100% of total hire fee is payable.

  4. Rescheduling: May be accommodated subject to Studio availability and may incur new deposit/payment terms; original cancellation terms do not apply to new dates.

4. Studio Use & Facilities

  1. Condition on exit: The Hirer must leave the Studio, Green Room, kitchenette and all communal areas clean, tidy and free of waste, damage or unauthorised alterations. Failure to do so will incur cleaning and repair charges at cost.

  2. Equipment return: All hired or supplied equipment must be tested, handled with care and returned in the condition received. Damage, loss or theft will be charged at replacement or repair cost plus a daily hire fee during remediation.

  3. Food & beverage: Clients may bring their own catering; breakages or excessive cleaning in the Green Room or kitchenette may incur a $150 cleaning fee. Clients are responsible for catering company equipment or items and must remove them at the conclusion of the hire. Lonsdale St Studio accepts no liability for catering equipment or items.

5. Security & Liability

  1. Personal property: Lonsdale St. Studio accepts no liability for loss, theft or damage of the Hirer’s or their guests’ property.

  2. Access control: Only persons listed on the Booking may access the Studio. Lonsdale St. Studio reserves the right to refuse or revoke access for unauthorised or disruptive individuals.

6. Insurance & Indemnity

  1. Hirer’s insurance: The Hirer must maintain adequate public liability insurance (minimum $10 million) covering their activities and property while on site and provide certificate of currency upon request.

  2. Indemnity: The Hirer indemnifies Lonsdale St. Studio and its staff against all claims, damages, costs or liabilities arising from the Hirer’s use of the Studio, except to the extent caused by Lonsdale St. Studio’s gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

7. Health, Safety & Conduct

  1. Compliance: The Hirer and their guests must comply with all health and safety laws, studio rules and staff instructions.

  2. Prohibited items: No illegal substances, explosives, firearms or weapons may be brought on site.

  3. Intoxication: Anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol may be denied entry and/or ejected without refund.

8. Overtime & Additional Charges

  1. Booking time: Includes setup and pack-up. Any use beyond the booked end time is charged as overtime at $150 + GST per half-hour or part thereof.

  2. Additional services: Extra cleaning, technical support, furniture moves or nutrition services requested on the day may incur additional fees, as quoted.

9. Termination

Lonsdale St. Studio may terminate a Booking without refund if the Hirer breaches any of these Terms & Conditions, or if continued hire poses a risk to staff, property or other clients.

10. Data Protection & Privacy

  1. Personal information collected for invoicing and booking administration is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

  2. CCTV is in operation for security purposes; footage is retained securely and only accessed to investigate incidents.

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of ACT courts.
